Types of Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy focuses on helping an individual address and resolve personal, emotional, psychological, or behavioral issues. It is tailored to the unique needs and concerns of the individual. It can be used to address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, personal growth and self-improvement, and mental health disorders.

During individual therapy sessions, the individual and the therapist engage in a collaborative and therapeutic relationship where the individual has the opportunity to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental space. The therapist helps the individual gain insight into their challenges, identify patterns or triggers, develop coping skills, and work towards their therapeutic goals.

Individual therapy can be a helpful and empowering process that supports individuals in gaining self-awareness, improving their emotional well-being, developing coping skills, enhancing personal growth, and overcoming challenges. It is a confidential and supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into themselves, and work towards positive change.

Family Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Family therapy focuses on improving the relationships, communication, and functioning within a family system. It is a type of therapeutic intervention that involves working with the entire family unit, rather than individual family members, to address and resolve issues that may be affecting the family's well-being and functioning.

Family therapy is based on the understanding that families are complex systems, and issues or challenges within the family are often interconnected and can impact each member of the family in different ways. Family therapists work with families to identify and understand patterns of interaction, communication styles, and behaviors that may be contributing to difficulties or conflicts within the family system. The goal of family therapy is to help families develop healthier communication, problem-solving, and coping skills, and to strengthen the relationships and bonds among family members.

Family therapy can be helpful in addressing a wide range of issues, including marital conflicts, parent-child conflicts, blended family issues, communication problems, behavioral issues in children or adolescents, mental health issues, addiction, grief and loss, and transitions such as divorce or remarriage.

Group Therapy

Individual Therapy

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a therapist works with a group of people who share similar emotional or psychological issues. The group typically consists of six to twelve members, and sessions can be conducted on a weekly or biweekly basis.

In group therapy, members are encouraged to share their experiences, feelings, and thoughts with one another, as well as to give and receive support and feedback. The therapist facilitates discussion and guides the group to explore and address their shared concerns, often using specific therapeutic techniques and interventions.

Group therapy can be effective for a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and interpersonal difficulties. It can provide a sense of community and reduce feelings of isolation, while also offering a safe and confidential space for personal growth and healing.

Now offering FDA-approved TMS and Neurofeedback for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and more.

Keys to Improving Your Relationship | Learning to stop feeling alone and start being present

A Glimpse Into Your Experience

My time spent at the RGW Institute has been an undeniable phenomenal experience. Being under Yaron's supervision, I was able to grow in ways that solidified my foundation as a clinician. One of the most valuable things I learned is how to communicate with people in the way they connect to others. This skill has allowed me to successfully engage in counsel with a wide range of clients with varied backgrounds. The only thing you'll regret is not taking advantage of this opportunity sooner!

~Angela

My supervision experience with Ya’Ron Brown has been incredibly valuable in shaping my growth as a counselor. He creates a safe, supportive space that encourages reflection, self-awareness, and honest dialogue. Ya’Ron challenges me to think critically, deepen my clinical reasoning, and develop my own voice as a practitioner. His feedback is insightful, constructive, and always geared toward my development. Most importantly, his mentorship has strengthened both my confidence and competence, making a lasting impact on my professional journey. I would encourage anyone considering joining the next cohort to do so—you’ll gain not only strong clinical skills, but also a supportive community and a mentor who truly invests in your growth.

~Heather

  • Most valuable aspect: The most valuable part of my supervision experience with Ya’Ron Brown has been his ability to create a space that is both supportive and challenging, fostering honest reflection and growth.
  • Clinical/professional growth: Through his guidance, I’ve become more confident in my clinical judgment, developed a stronger understanding of therapeutic frameworks, and learned to navigate complex client dynamics with greater clarity.
  • To a prospective cohort member: Ya’Ron offers a rare blend of clinical insight, cultural awareness, and practical wisdom that can truly elevate your practice.

~Tammy

Couples Intensives

A Transformative Experience for Relationships in Crisis, Transition, or Renewal

Whether you're navigating a painful rupture, feeling emotionally distant, or seeking a powerful reset, our Couples Intensive offers a deeply personalized two-day therapeutic experience to help you reconnect, rebuild, or realign.

This program is designed for individuals and couples of all relationship structures and stages — married, partnered, separated, or simply unsure — who want focused guidance in a safe, supportive setting.

Led by Experts in Relational Life Therapy

Our Couples Intensives are co-facilitated by RGW Institute founders Ya’Ron and Stacee Brown, both Certified Relational Life Therapy (RLT) clinicians with extensive experience guiding couples through breakthrough healing and reconnection. Their unique male–female clinician dynamic provides balanced insight, accountability, and compassionate guidance throughout the intensive experience.

What Is a Couples Intensive?

Our 6-hour, two-day intensive is more than a therapy session — it’s an immersive, healing space that gets to the heart of your relationship dynamics. Guided by trained and compassionate relationship experts, this process helps you:

  • Explore your relational history
  • Identify personal and relational goals
  • Address core issues and recurring patterns
  • Heal emotional injuries that have gone unresolved
  • Rebuild communication, trust, and intimacy

What Makes This Different?

You’ll engage in powerful therapeutic exercises such as:

  • Experiential Roleplay
  • Psychodrama
  • Attachment and trigger mapping
  • RLT-based interventions focused on relational self-awareness, communication, and repair

This co-facilitated model offers a rare opportunity to work with two seasoned therapists simultaneously, gaining real-time support from both masculine and feminine perspectives. It’s ideal for couples seeking direct feedback, structure, and deep emotional exploration in a safe and balanced space.

This is not talk therapy as usual — it’s intensive, targeted, and transformational.

You’ll Walk Away With:

  • Clarity about the root causes of disconnection
  • Awareness of your own emotional triggers and survival strategies
  • Tools for navigating relational cycles of harmony, disharmony, and repair
  • Skills for communicating with honesty, vulnerability, and intention
  • A deeper understanding of your partner’s inner world — and your own

Who Is This For?

This intensive may be right for you if:

  • You’ve experienced a recent betrayal, rupture, or high-conflict event
  • You feel like you're at a crossroads and need clarity
  • You’ve done therapy before, but want more direct, focused results
  • You want private, tailored support outside a group or bootcamp setting
  • You're committed to doing the work — whether together or separately

Please Note:

Not all relationships are meant to continue. Our goal is not to “fix” but to clarify, heal, and empower you to move forward — together or apart — with dignity and emotional honesty.

OUR CURRENT GROUPS

Men’s Interpersonal Process Group w/ ya'ron - 12 weeks

This 12-week virtual process group provides a confidential, safe and supportive environment where men can find understanding and encouragement. Through therapeutically guided interactions amongst group members, as well as intensive self-exploration, introspection and reflection, men have an opportunity to develop the tools to better manage the areas in their lives that are “stuck” or in “crisis. Often, men find that by being in a group environment, they re-experience previous interpersonal dynamics that have been distressing to them in other relationships.

By creating a trusting climate to examine these feelings, men will have an opportunity to examine troublesome or maladaptive relationship patterns, understand how these patterns developed, and create alternative ways of interacting that are more beneficial to the individual. Through this process, men are able to gain more freedom and agency in their interactions in order to have more meaningful ongoing relationships with others.

Let's Get Started
