Building Clinicians Who Lead With Integrity, Skill, and Cultural Responsiveness

At RGW Institute, we believe in developing therapists who are not only clinically strong—but ethically grounded, culturally responsive, and personally aligned with the work of healing. Our Internship Program offers graduate students a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in a thriving private practice that centers the Global Majority and LGBTQIA+ populations.


We are proud to offer an immersive training experience where learning, supervision, and client work intersect with purpose.


Who It’s For

This internship is designed for Master’s-level students currently enrolled in an accredited counseling program seeking practicum or internship placements.

Applicants should be:

  • Passionate about serving diverse populations
  • Eager to grow both clinically and professionally
  • Open to feedback, supervision, and reflective practice
  • Ready to contribute to a values-driven group practice



What You’ll Experience

Interns at RGW Institute will:

  • Provide direct counseling to individuals, couples, and families under supervision
  • Participate in weekly individual or triadic supervision
  • Engage in group supervision, case consultation, and peer learning
  • Attend trainings on ethics, documentation, and culturally competent care
  • Complete documentation in accordance with agency and legal standards
  • Participate in community outreach and psychoeducation initiatives
  • Observe and support group therapy sessions as available


Interns are assigned a primary site supervisor, and receive midpoint and final evaluations to support development, goal setting, and licensure preparation.


Eligibility Requirements

To apply, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in a Master’s-level counseling program
  • Have completed all prerequisite coursework
  • Provide proof of student liability insurance
  • Submit a complete application including:
    • Resume
    • Personal statement
    • Two references (academic or professional)


Intern Expectations

We take your development seriously—and we expect the same from you. Interns are expected to:

  • Maintain professionalism and ethical standards
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and a commitment to diversity
  • Practice confidentiality and informed consent
  • Actively participate in all required supervision and training
  • Communicate with integrity and take initiative for learning
  • Practice self-care to support sustainability in the work
